It may be a new year, but it is decades past that we’re celebrating at TCB, with the launch of a dedicated vintage rack.
Fashion insiders have long sprinkled their sartorial choices with vintage gems. Celebrities, too, have their stylists scanning the likes of London’s William Vintage and LA’s Decades to pluck the best of the vintage crop.
Some of the most memorable Oscars dresses of all time have been vintage. Think Renee Zellweger’s canary yellow 1959 Jean Desses gown, and Julia Roberts’ black and white velvet 1992 Valentino number at the 2001 awards alone.
One of the most consistent, not to mention stunning, exponents of vintage style on the red carpet is human rights lawyer Amal Clooney. Clooney’s love-in with William Vintage has yielded many dazzling looks, a Madame Gres haute couture green dress (circa 1968) at the 2017 Venice Film Festival, and a silver Lanvin suit (1967) at makeup queen Charlotte Tilbury’s 2015 Christmas party, to name but two.
Among the vintage gold, we have gleaned here at TCB are:
From the ’90’s , we have a gorgeous Lolita Lempicka skirt suit ($299), its intricate sea shell design reflecting the late French designer’s love of the natural world.
From the ‘70’s, this sequinned dress ($30), is a sexy showstopper.
And, from the ‘60’s, these enamel brooches ($99), encrusted with Swarowski crystals, are just so sweet. So if for you, too, everything old is new again, come and pay us a visit at TCB. Happy new year!
